Culture Is What's Viewed As Acceptable

I think most know Culture is not ping pong tables, beer in the fridge, open concept offices, and blah blah blah at work. 

But Culture can also be disguised as:

❌ Having your values written and described on the website

❌ Having the mission and vision of the company written on a plaque or hanging on the walls of your building

❌ A feel good story about donating to this or that charity

❌ An outstanding benefits package that makes people believe the company cares about employees

❌ Flexible hours or ability to work remote

So what is Culture then?

✅ It is the accepted behaviors within the company. It is what leadership allows in terms of behavior. 

✅ Culture is no more than what employees view around them as acceptable.

If you want an excellent Culture, leaders need to hold themselves and every employee accountable to the behaviors desired, with no exceptions.

⭐️And since I am a believer that every person (no matter their authority level) is a leader and has the ability to be a leader, then Culture is the responsibility of every employee.
